Jakarta Fine Dining

Whether it is celebrating your birthday with your loved ones, anniversary, family gathering or any significant event, restaurants with good food and excellent ambiance is a must have.

During Hari Raya last month, I visited Jakarta for a week. It was the perfect timing for me because I have always thought that everything is great in Jakarta except the traffic, but at that time, Jakarta was traffic free, and I could not be more grateful.

I stayed near Sudirman, so the places I have been to are mostly in Central Jakarta. Here are five fine dining restaurants that I think will be worth a visit.

1. Salt Grill by Luke Mangan

Salt Grill Jakarta first opened in Jakarta in 2013 on one of the city’s highest points. I recall that in Singapore, Salt Grill opened at the 55th floor of the opulent and iconic ION Orchard, one of the highest point as well. It is famous for allowing food connoisseurs enjoy sky-high dining at Salt grill, with a breathtaking city skyline view.

2. GAIA by Oso Ristorante

Oso Ristorante is an authentic Italian restaurant based in Singapore. They then open their branch in Jakarta, located at 46th floor of Altitude the Plaza. You can also access it from Plaza Indonesia.

This place has classic and contemporary feeling in it, and a breathtaking view overlooking Jakarta CBD, either for the day or night.

3. Orient 8

If you are an Indonesian, I think you might be familiar with this place, because Orient 8 is famous for its extravagant entrance and luxurious atmosphere. Orient 8 is a Pan Asian restaurant inside Hotel Mulia Senayan, which is right beside its sister restaurant, Table 8.

Because of its glamorous interior, it is most suitable to celebrate your special occasion here. Orient 8 offers ala-carte menu, and buffet selections as well. You can check their website here.

4. Akira Back

Akira Back the name of a chef who was born in Korean and grown up in the USA. As the name implies, Akira Back Jakarta offers authentic Japanese cuisine which takes dining to the next level.  Akira Back Jakarta is located in MD Place Building, which is owned by MD Corp group.

I can’t find the menu online, but you can click here for the website.

5. GIA Jakarta

GIA is a new restaurant opened in early 2015. It is a unique private Italian restaurant with bar concept, and it is located in Sampoerna Strategic Square South Tower.

You can check the menu here.

I recommend you to reserve your table ahead. Enjoy your fine dining <3
